DESCRIPTION:Please join us the first Monday of each month* at 7pm for the Northside Business Association general meeting\, which is open to the public. \n\nWe meet at Heart of Northside (formerly NorthChurch) at 4222 Hamilton Ave. but please enter from Hobart Ave. and follow the signs to our meeting room. \n\nBring questions\, concerns\, ideas\, or just listen. The police make their crime report at the beginning of the meeting and take questions too\, a good opportunity to take advantage of the personal access. The bulk of each meeting is spent discussing topics relevant to the Northside Business District\, hearing reports from NBA committees\, and occasional presentations from those looking for NBA support/endorsement of their projects.\nTo inquire about getting your topic on a meeting agenda\, please email nba@welcometonorthside.com. \n\n*There is no meeting in July due to the tremendous amount of volunteer work put in to the Northside Rock n Roll Carnival (produced by NBA)\, in conjunction with the Northside 4th of July Parade (produced by the Northside Community Council).

Receive a free mini-health assessment\, provided by a trained Exclusive Services RN staff member.\nEnjoy a free live session of Line Dancing Instruction with Renee Warner from Just the Steps Line Dancing LLC. Be empowered\, learn the steps of line dancing. Leave feeling energized and joyful.Enjoy a day filled with cultural performances\, small businesses vendors\, open mic and Poetry\, Live DJ\, Line dancing\, Raffles\, Door prizes\, face painting\, childrens craft table and so much more!\nKwanzaa is an African American and pan-African seven-day cultural festival that is celebrated every December 26 to January 1.\nWe devote the third day of Kwanzaa\, December 28th\, to the principle of Ujima (oo-JEE-mah)\, which means collective work and responsibility. On this day we light a candle\, symbolizing a commitment to active and informed togetherness on matters of common interest. Ujima focuses on the collective responsibility for both our achievements and our setbacks. We commit to building and maintaining our community\, taking on each other’s problems\, and working to solve them together.Let’s come together\, regardless of background\, to celebrate the principle of Ujima. \n\nThis event is free to the public and is a fantastic opportunity to connect with others and honor the Ujima heritage.
